In October, we have taken our guests on a journey of discovery to evoke senses with the Sense-ation Dinner in association with Promote Iceland and Blue Lagoon.
Our show-stopping private dining room has been transformed into an Icelandic landscape with a live moss walls, a Blue Lagoon filled water features through the centre of the table, sheepskin covered chairs and an Icelandic forest of trees and plants. The ceiling displaied its own real-time Northern Lights during the dinner while the sounds of the Icelandic countryside play out in the background, changing to complement each course and offering an all-encompassing experience.
Offering a mysterious dining experience in an elegant setting, the Sense-ation Dinner has brought together national delicacies from Iceland’s unique culinary landscape. On arrival guests has been offered a signature cocktail ‘Uggi’, made from Brennivin (Icelandic aquavit) as an aperitif. Dishes included langoustines on a bed of seaweeds served on dry ice; native reindeer with chocolate sauce, red cabbage and Icelandic baby potatoes served on a charcoal barbecue built with rural moss and stones; and traditional Skyr with blueberries served with textured wooden spoons and bowls from famed Icelandic artist Olafur Sveinsson. Each bowl is hand carved with stunning, swirling designs on the lid and uniquely formed handles.Sense-ation dinner Behind the Scenes
